Batik Airlines to commence flights between Kaula Lumpur and Vizag from March 28

The port city would get one more international flight from the last week of March as Batik Airlines, formerly Malindo Airlines, would be flying from Kaula Lampur to Visakhapatnam.

It is recalled that the three-day-a-week direct flight service from Vizag to Kuala Lumpur was introduced by Malindo on February 15 of 2015. But it was stopped on February 13 of 2016 due to various reasons even though the flight garnered a 70 per cent passenger load.

After seven years, Malindo Airlines which changed its name to Batik Air is now ready to relaunch its flight service on March 28. The Tours and Travels Association of Andhra Pradesh (TTAA) personally represented the former Malaysia Tourism Minister Santara when he was in the port city along with an official delegation.

The TTAA president Kanneganti Vijaya Mohan said that they persuaded the minister and airlines, which Suresh represented to look to fly to Visakhapatnam. He said the state government and his association would support the international flight service.
